Gadow Custom Guitars
Hand Made Custom Built Guitars
Gadow Guitars formed to produce superb American-made, handcrafted and customized, fairly priced alternatives to the typical assembly-line guitars and basses available at chain stores. President and head luthier Ryan Gadow has taken time-honored, classic design successes and incorporated Gadow Guitars’ distinctive styling and attention to detail. Gadow’s clean, elegant designs use the highest quality tone woods and hardware. This, combined with their obsessive attention to detail, creates some of the finest custom electric guitars in the world. Each Gadow guitar is set up, tested and signed personally by Ryan Gadow to ensure the highest level of quality. What sets Gadow Guitars apart from other manufacturers is their availability of options and customizations.
Collectors Back Off,
These Are Guitars for Performing and Recording Guitar Players
“Our goal is to provide a beautiful, American-made instrument, custom-built to match someone’s own personality, at a price that encourages the guitar to be played, not hung on a wall,” says Ryan Gadow. "We are handmade, but we don't cost $5,000." Gadow Guitars went into business with the dual goals of producing terrific instruments and conducting business in a way that challenges the established industry. Gadow's motto, “Taking back music, one guitar at a time,” truly captures their enthusiasm for putting beautiful, high-quality instruments into the hands of satisfied music enthusiasts.
The Gadow guitar company points out their customer service separates them from the other manufacturers. When you want a guitar, you want a guitar. You shouldn’t have to wait six months or even a year to get a custom instrument. After all, you’re a player who wants to get to it, not a collector who is waiting for his new purchase so he can store it in its case. Gadow builds fine instruments for guitarist, and some of these guitarists are often surprised when they receive a personal call from Ryan after Gadow receives their warranty card. Now that’s attention to detail.
Hand Made in the USA
All the work is done on-site in their shop right here in the USA. Located on Ninth Street, in Durham, Gadow Guitars wants to challenge the assembly line habits of the titans of the guitar world. Gadow’s whole shebang from the design, the milling into one of the original Gadow body shapes, painting, finishing, assembly, and testing are all done in their home in North Carolina.
Reviewed
A review of the Gadow’s Custom Hollow model in Guitar Player magazine has helped boost the company's reputation. The review described it as combining "elements of Tele, Les Paul, and ES-335, all rolled into a unique-looking, cool-sounding package." It praised the "comfy neck and clean fretwork" and the "beautifully figured carved maple top." As for the sound, it says the "amplified tones flat-out rule."
That model has been popular at World Music in Nashville, according to the sales staff. "We've had a lot of really good luck with those guys," at Gadow. "They're really nice guitars." Word has been spreading, drawing customers from across Tennessee and Kentucky. "They hear about it through the grapevine and want to come check it out." "The attention to detail that they give. They're really well crafted."
Ryan Gadow says "Right now we're really going strong with the country market," "We have the guitar players for Sarah Evans and Brad Paisley playing our guitars.”
