History and Opinion: The company which bears his name, the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, is now one of the largest musical instrument corporations in the world. Those who knew him said Leo Fender was a friendly, modest and unassuming man. In fact, his "coffee mug" was a styro-foam cup on which he wrote "Leo". He had the lifelong admiration and devotion of his employees, many of whom have stated that the best working years of their lives were spent under Leo Fender.

Now that last sentence makes me proud to play a guitar bearing the name of Leo Fender.  His original "company" Fender began in 1938, and in its present form still continues to produce the classic designs of this mere man who became a legend. Leo's designs and innovations have been, and still are, strapped over the shoulders of some of the most influential and most impressive musician's the world has ever known. Are you willing to do the work that gets you into that club? Make Leo proud!
